Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

1. Controller

HoefSoft, the developer of Mexen (Google Play developer name: Huubertussoft), is responsible for the processing attributed to us below. Contact: huubertussoft@gmail.com. Address: Flosbeugel 32, 1602 EZ Enkhuizen, the Netherlands.

This policy describes the published app and privacy improvements prepared for version 0.1.10. Installation of a new version may occur after this policy date. Mexen has no separate Mexen account or central database of player names.

2. Game data on your device and with Google

You may enter optional player names or nicknames. The list, player order, settings and an active game state are stored locally. Prefer nicknames. These names are not sent to a server operated by us.

Statistics include rounds played, throws, MEX throws, penalty points (called sips in older versions), scores, play time and save versions. Signing in with an existing Google Play Games profile can synchronize statistics through Google Saved Games. Google processes profile/user identifiers; the app may also retrieve your Play Games profile picture. The optional player-name list is not part of the statistics file Mexen sends to Saved Games.

Purpose and legal basis: providing and restoring the game features you use, based on performance of the agreement for those features. Local preferences and saves are needed to provide them. Google also processes data for its own purposes under its own privacy terms. You can play locally without a successful Play Games sign-in and manage sign-in behavior in Google Play Games.

3. Advertising and privacy choices

Mexen uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads and may use Unity Ads through mediation. These services and the advertising partners in the consent message may process IP address and derived approximate location, advertising/device identifiers, device/app information, app and ad interactions, technical diagnostics and privacy choices. Purposes include delivering and measuring advertising, financing the app, security and fraud prevention.

Where required we obtain consent for device storage/identifiers and personalization. Non-personalized ads can also require storage or identifier consent. Google's consent platform determines which requests are allowed under your choices; refusal may result in limited ads or no ads. Reopen choices using the advertising privacy button in settings where required. The separate Privacy Policy button remains available.

Legal bases: consent where required; legitimate interests for strictly necessary security and fraud prevention where permitted. Those interests are a safe and reliable app and advertising service. Necessary security is not a general exemption from consent for advertising tracking. Withdrawal does not affect earlier processing. We do not ourselves sell personal data or build advertising profiles.

Older app versions may enable Unity Engine statistics. The privacy changes prepared for version 0.1.10 disable automatic legacy Unity Analytics. Advertising SDKs may still perform their own measurements described above.

4. Purchases, error reports and contact

The one-time Remove Ads purchase uses Google Play Billing with Unity IAP 5.3.1 as the integration. Mexen uses product information, purchase status and purchase information needed to deliver and restore ad-free access. We do not receive payment-card details. Necessary purchase processing is based on performance of the purchase agreement; legally required retention is based on the relevant obligation. According to Unity, this IAP SDK version itself collects no personal data.

The app keeps up to three local error reports: timestamp, app/Unity version, platform, screen/scene, error type, sanitized stack trace and technical game events. Player names and score values are not intentionally included. Reports are not automatically uploaded. Only when you choose to share are they sent through the app and to the recipient you select. Purpose: diagnosis and support. Necessary local diagnostics rely on our legitimate interest in resolving errors; voluntary sending is performed at your request.

If you email us, we process your email address, message and voluntarily provided information to handle your question or privacy request. The basis is requested support or our legal obligation to handle privacy rights. Do not send passwords, payment details or identity documents.

5. Recipients and international transfers

Services include Google AdMob, Google Play Games / Saved Games, Google Play Billing, Unity Ads and advertising partners actually enabled in the consent message. Google Ireland Limited, applicable Google entities and Unity entities may act as independent controllers; where a supplier processes on our behalf, the applicable data-processing terms govern that role. Our email provider handles correspondence. Cloudflare Pages hosts this public website and may process IP addresses and request information for delivery and security, based on the legitimate interest in a working and secure website. This privacy page includes no advertising or analytics tags of our own.

Suppliers may process outside the EEA. Their applicable terms and privacy notices describe transfer mechanisms, including standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, adequacy decisions. Ask us about safeguards applicable to your processing; an SDK version alone does not establish the mechanism for every request.

6. Retention and deletion

  • Player names and preferences remain locally until you remove them or clear app storage.
  • An active game has a default twelve-hour recovery window since its last save. Expired files are removed on a subsequent check; no background process deletes them at exactly twelve hours.
  • Local statistics remain until app storage is cleared. Google Saved Games remains separately until you remove game data with Google. Uninstalling does not automatically erase all cloud data. Device backups may retain or restore data on reinstall.
  • Up to three local error reports are kept; new reports replace the oldest. They have no fixed age limit and are removed when app storage is cleared. A voluntarily shared copy may remain with its chosen recipient.
  • Correspondence we receive is normally retained for up to twelve months after the question is closed. A longer period applies only for a demonstrable legal obligation or ongoing dispute.
  • Google, Unity and other independent providers apply their own retention and deletion rules for their own processing; see their linked policies. Purchase records may need to remain for legal obligations after a deletion request.

See Manage data and request deletion for instructions and contact.

7. Rights, audience and security

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent. Email huubertussoft@gmail.com. We normally respond within one month; any permitted extension and its reason will be communicated within that month. We request additional identification only where necessary and proportionate. For processing independently controlled by Google or Unity we help identify the appropriate route. Without our own user database, we cannot associate every SDK identifier with a person.

You may complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Belgian Data Protection Authority or another competent supervisory authority. Mexen is currently offered on Google Play with an adult (18+) target audience. A PEGI rating is a separate assessment and does not authorize processing children's data. Do not use the app if you are outside this target audience. Contact us if you believe a child's data has been processed incorrectly.

We minimize data, use app storage for game data and rely on Google and Unity security facilities for their services. No system is risk-free. We do not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects; advertising partners may personalize ads as described above.

8. Changes

We update this policy when features, suppliers or obligations change. The date above indicates the latest substantive revision. Material changes requiring new consent are not introduced solely by editing this page.
